Project Goal

The main goal of this project is "to expand and increase the user base of the Safa Nepal application in Birgunj Metropolitan City."

Objective

The major objectives of the project are:
  • Promote the Safa Nepal application through social media campaigns, local radio, FM stations, newspapers, and various promotional materials, including brochures, videos, and jingles, to educate and engage the public.
  • To train and mobilize volunteers to conduct outreach activities, including door-todoor visits, institution visits, and college engagement, to educate the public on the usage and benefits of the Safa Nepal application.
  • To set up promotional stalls and photobooths at local events like the Night Market of Birgunj and organize workshops with necessary resources and support to increase visibility and encourage community participation.

Project Description

CLEAN UP NEPAL initiated and developed "Safa Nepal" (a New Version of Nepal Waste Map) an open-data waste management and data collection system. It consists of a web-based dashboard and mobile application and has been developed to allow the local-level government to undertake evidence-based powerful analysis of waste-related data; provide waste collection and management information; and enable citizens to report waste dumping, burning, and irregular or untimely waste collection services. Safa Nepal, the user-friendly platform gives waste management entities the ability to plan, monitor, collaborate, and communicate with each other and optimize public participation to streamline the entire waste management system. Safa Nepal is available in Android and iOS. This project will help to promote Safa Nepal application in Birgunj Metropolitan City thereby help in increasing the application user. Therefore, this system facilitates prompt resolution of waste-related problems, promotes accountability.
