CLEAN UP NEPAL Empowers Birjung’s Youth with Safa Nepal App Training

CLEAN UP NEPAL organized the Safa Nepal mobile application’s hands-on training for 49 youths of Birgunj Metropolitan City under “Public engagement in Waste Management through the support of the Safa Nepal Project”; 20 youth participants received training from 5 to 6 January, and 29 participants from 7 to 8 January 2023. After training, the project selected the 16 most active youth as volunteers, mobilizing to train the local people on using the Safa Nepal apps to manage waste. CLEAN UP NEPAL supported developing a campaign plan on 9 January 2023. The Mayor of Birgunj Metropolitan, Rajesh Man Singh, the Deputy Mayor of Birgunj Metropolitan, Imtiyaj Alam, and the Sanitation section head participated in the campaign plan meeting. They also committed to supporting the expansion of the Safa Nepal apps in the Birgunj Metropolitan.

The project has received support from the Asia Foundation/Data for Development, further bolstering, its implementation. The technical partner is NAXA Pvt. Ltd. Offering invaluable expertise to enhance the effectiveness and scalability of the Safa Nepal initiative.
