CLEAN UP NEPAL Hosts Climate Justice Workshops in Kapilvastu
On May 24, 2024, CLEAN UP NEPAL, in collaboration with the Dalit Society Development Centre and funded by IM Swedish Development Partner, conducted impactful workshops in Kapilvastu Municipality. The workshops educated 28 youth and women on climate justice, governance structures, and their roles in climate action. This initiative is part of the “Intersectional Green Futures: Advancing Climate Justice for All” project, which aims to empower marginalized groups through research, capacity building, advocacy, and sustainable environmental practices.
By promoting a gender-aware value chain for recycling UBC and low-grade plastics, the project seeks to create decent employment and foster resilience against environmental challenges. The project, spanning several municipalities across Dang, Salyan, and Kapilvastu districts, mobilizes volunteers for clean-up drives, recycling, and policy advocacy, working closely with local governments and stakeholders to advance climate justice and sustainable development in Nepal.
