CLEAN UP NEPAL Hosts Clean-Up Event in Ghorahi for World Environment Day
On June 1, 2024, CLEAN UP NEPAL, in collaboration with the Freed Kamlari Development Forum and funded by IM Swedish Development Partner, organized a successful clean-up event at Ghorahi Sub-Metropolitan City, Ward-04, Laxmipur Community. The event saw 51 community members come together to collect 192.54 kg of waste on the occasion of World Environment Day.
This initiative is part of the “Intersectional Green Futures: Advancing Climate Justice for All” project, which addresses environmental challenges through comprehensive waste management strategies. By collaborating with local government units, district-level stakeholders, and thematic partners like SOSEC Nepal and Yuwalaya, the project aims to create sustainable solutions and raise environmental awareness.
Through research, training, and capacity-building, the project fosters a culture of responsible stewardship, empowering communities to tackle environmental issues and promoting climate justice for future generations.
