CLEAN UP NEPAL successfully concluded a two-day training on Waste Segregation and Creating Value from Multi-Layered Plastic at Itahari Sub-Metropolitan City on 5–6 Feb, 2026, aimed at strengthening knowledge and practical skills for sustainable waste management and plastic circularity.

The program met all its objectives by enhancing participants’ understanding of waste segregation and plastic types, building practical skills on the safe handling of plastics, and promoting circular economy principles and plastic value chains. Participants also gained valuable insights into the health impacts of plastic burning, relevant policies, and basic business models for plastic recycling, supported by practical demonstrations.

The training saw active and enthusiastic engagement, with a total of 57 participants (22 male and 35 female) taking part. Thank you to Kedar Khatiwada and Mohan Shrestha for facilitating this training.

CLEAN UP NEPAL sincerely thanks Standard Chartered Nepal for their generous support and इटहरी उपमहानगरपालिका for their coordination, which made this program possible. Together, this collaboration marks a meaningful step toward sustainable waste management and a more inclusive plastic circular economy.
