Successful Cleanup Campaign at Chyasal Stadium, Ward 09
Today, a successful cleanup campaign was conducted in Ward 09, Lalitpur Metropolitan City, where 83 dedicated volunteers, along with ward officials and CLEAN UP NEPAL staff, collected an impressive 1,398.719 kg of waste from Chyasal Stadium.
The waste audit revealed:
✅ 1,256.259 kg of mixed waste
✅ 10.43 kg of PET bottles
✅ 13.73 kg of glass
✅ 116.67 kg of plastics
✅ 2.26 kg of metals
Hira Kaji Benjankar, Ward Member of Ward 09, expressed enthusiasm for participating and pledged to continue supporting such initiatives at the ward level. Rabindra Lamichhane, Executive Director, officially launched the event, highlighting the importance of community-led cleanup efforts.
This initiative is part of the ‘Green Empowerment through Vocational Training for Solid Waste Management in Lalitpur (GEMS-L)’ project, funded by the State Office for Development Cooperation (LEZ), supported by BGZ Gesellschaft für Zwischenlagerung mbH, and implemented by CLEAN UP NEPAL.
