Second River Clean Up Campaign was successfully conducted
We successfully completed the second river clean up campaign under the RIVER+ project. A huge thanks to all the incredible volunteers, partners, local stakeholders, and communities who joined hands in this initiative and helped remove heaps of trash from our rivers and riverbanks. Along with the river clean-up, we also conducted an awareness session about the types of waste and the importance of segregation.
Today we have collected around 5330 Kg of waste with the participation of 257 individuals of which 98 were volunteers, 141 were community members and rest were RIVER+ team members.
This effort was made possible thanks to the support of World Bank through the Plastic Free Rivers and Seas for South Asia (PLEASE Project), implemented by the South Asia Co-operative Environment Programme with support from UNOPS Sri Lanka. RIVER+ is led by Biocomp Nepal in partnership with People in Need Nepal and CLEAN UP NEPAL.
