Safa Nepal App Officially Launched in Biratnagar Metropolitan City, Koshi Province

Today marks a significant milestone as CLEAN UP NEPAL and Biratnagar Metropolitan City signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to officially launch the Safa Nepal App, strengthening collaboration for improved waste management and environmental sanitation.

The MoU was signed between Yogendra Prasad Dulal, Chief Administrative Officer of Biratnagar Metropolitan City, and Rabindra Lamichhane, Executive Director of CLEAN UP NEPAL, in the presence of Deputy Mayor Shilpa Nirala Karki, Waste Management Section Head Punam Kumar Dahal, other section heads, and Prem Prakash Nepali, Project Coordinator of CLEAN UP NEPAL.

A total of 18 participants (7 female and 11 male) attended the event. During the session, the CLEAN UP NEPAL team highlighted the importance of the Safa Nepal App and demonstrated its key features.

The Safa Nepal App aims to transform waste management in Biratnagar through technology-driven solutions, enhanced community participation, and informed decision-making, fostering community-led governance for a cleaner and more sustainable city.

This initiative is implemented under the project “Building a Circular and Resilient Vulnerable Community Through Waste Innovation,” with support from Standard Chartered Bank Nepal Limited.
