Community Unites for World Environment Day Clean-Up in Ghorahi
On June 5, 2025, CLEAN UP NEPAL, in collaboration with Ghorahi Sub-Metropolitan City (Ward No. 2 – Surkedangi), FKDF, and local partners, successfully organized a Community Clean-Up Campaign to celebrate World Environment Day. The event brought together 42 dedicated participants—26 women and 15 men—including representatives from women’s groups, youth, local government, Nepal Police, volunteers, and CLEAN UP NEPAL staff, all committed to making Dang cleaner and greener.
Together, the team collected 158 kg of waste, including 26.5 kg of glass, 112.5 kg of mixed waste, and 19 kg of PET bottles. This collective effort demonstrated the power of community action in tackling plastic pollution and promoting environmental responsibility.
A heartfelt thank you to Ghorahi Sub-Metropolitan City for their support with transportation and logistics, which was key to the campaign’s success. This initiative was conducted under the Intersectional Green Future: Advancing Climate Justice for All project, supported by IM Swedish Development Partner.
💚 With every clean-up, we’re building stronger communities and a healthier planet.
