Building Women’s Leadership for Climate Justice in Ghorahi
In a dedicated effort to strengthen grassroots leadership in addressing climate change and promoting good governance, CLEAN UP NEPAL conducted a two-day specialized training for 29 female members of Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) from Wards 4 and 15 of Ghorahi Sub-Metropolitan City. These women, already active in community advocacy and development, came together to deepen their understanding of climate justice, refine their advocacy skills, and learn practical accountability mechanisms to use within their communities.
The training focused on linking local experiences with broader environmental and governance challenges. From the beginning, participants showed strong engagement and a desire to lead inclusive, sustainable actions at the community level. The first phase of the training introduced the concept of climate justice, laying a foundation for further exploration of tools and strategies to drive meaningful change.
This program is part of the Intersectional Green Future: Advancing Climate Justice for All project, generously funded by IM Swedish Development Partner.
