BAS Nepal and CLEAN UP NEPAL Join Forces for “Green Nepalgunj” Waste Transformation Project
We are pleased to announce the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between BAS Nepal and CLEAN UP NEPAL to implement the project “Green Nepalgunj: Community Waste Transformation”, funded by The Coca-Cola Company. Signed by Mr. Namaskar Shah, Executive Director of BAS Nepal, and Mr. Rabindra Lamichhane, Executive Director of CLEAN UP NEPAL, this partnership reflects a shared commitment to improving waste management and environmental sustainability in Nepalgunj.
The project will focus on establishing a Material Recovery Facility (MRF) to support efficient plastic waste segregation and recycling. It also includes city-wide awareness campaigns, environmental education in schools, regular community clean-up drives, and the empowerment of informal waste workers through training, safety gear, and formal system inclusion.
Together, we aim to build a cleaner, greener, and more inclusive Nepalgunj—turning waste into opportunity for people and the planet.
