Women Lead the Way in Vermi-Composting Training in Ghorahi

On June 12–13, 2025, 25 women from Wards 2, 4, 8, and 12 of Ghorahi Sub-Metropolitan City, Dang (घोराही उप-महानगरपालिका) participated in a hands-on vermi-composting training. Ranging from homemakers and farmers to community leaders, these women learned practical techniques to transform household organic waste into nutrient-rich vermi manure. The training, led by facilitator Karuna Thapa, included live demonstrations and interactive sessions to make composting accessible and easy to adopt.

Each participant received vermi worms and an earthen pot, officially handed over by Laxman Adhikari, WASH Section Focal Person at the Ghorahi Sub-Metropolitan Office. Empowered with knowledge and tools, the women have committed to launching home-based composting systems and scaling their efforts to support eco-entrepreneurship and sustainable community practices in Ghorahi.

This initiative is part of the Intersectional Green Future: Advancing Climate Justice for All project, funded by IM Swedish Development Partner and supported by CLEAN UP NEPAL.
