Namaskar, I am Alisha Dangol, 34 from Lalitpur. I am a ward member of Lalitpur Metropolitan City, ward no. 2.  I do not have any special income sources and I have been working as a social worker. I have expected to participate in different tasks so that I could relief in terms of sustainability in urban areas as the unemployment rate is increasing day by day these days. It has been already a year since I engaged with CLEAN UP NEPAL in different activities being an active member.

My main objective of taking part in the Take Workshop Internship Training initiated by CLEAN UP NEPAL dated 21^st to 25^th October 2024 was to learn a wealth of knowledge and to implement these newfound learnings in society. I have a keen interest in developing a career in plastic waste management in my life. 5 days of training with new learnings and certain amount of money have made me very happy to take part in the training. I will immediately implement the learnings in my ward as I get an opportunity to have practical learning as well as theoretical knowledge. Such trainings are beneficial to all both in terms of knowledge, learning and also financial support for many in a group, especially to those women who work at their homes.

I have found a few changes in my life after taking part in the program. Though I was aware of environmental issues, the training made me realize that we, human beings are responsible directly and indirectly for making our environment polluted with our different activities. Through the training, we participants have prepared different plastic items including flowers, pen holders, mats, and many others for which many women are engaged and have made a certain amount of money. Being a member of Ward 2, I will try my best to manage such training in the coming days. I assure to support these activities on behalf of the ward. As CLEAN UP NEPAL has taken an initiative for the betterment in environmental sector, many other organizations should learn and implement as soon as possible. Together we can make a clean and green city.
