Brief info

Usha Humagain holds six years of experience in project survey, design, estimation, implementation and monitoring of infrastructure projects, researching, and reporting on the solid waste management sector.
She holds a master's degree in civil engineering from the University of Maine, USA, focusing on solid waste management. After graduating in Dec.2020, she moved back to Nepal with a passion for managing Nepal's solid waste. She was involved in developing the solid waste management strategic framework in a few municipalities of Nepal as a consultant.
Before moving to the states, she joined S.W. Nepal Pvt. Ltd as a Rural Infrastructure Engineer for USAID funded Sajhedari Bikaas Project managed by PACT Inc, USA. She covered program activities in the earthquake-affected districts of Gorkha, Dhading and Lamjung. Her role with the project included field-based surveys, infrastructure design, rate analysis, quantity and cost estimation, quality monitoring, bill preparations and quality assurance of the community assets supported by Sajhedari Bikaas.
During her master's, she acquired teaching and research experience on the various dimensions of waste management, including water quality testing, management of waste water, waste-to-energy approach, pollution control, biodiversity conservation, and GIS application in waste management.
She believes that together we can make an impact and manage our waste issues.
