Clean up Nepal facilitated training on waste management in one of the communities of Budhanilkantha. The clustered community consisted of 18 households and a factory of hemp products. The training emphasized on five components– introduction to ongoing waste related practices; waste segregation; 3Rs– Reduce, Reuse and Recycle; composting and impacts of open-air waste burning.
It is often observed that “awareness” could be the key to waste management-related solutions. The awareness program at Budhanilkantha cluster followed up with immediate clean up in their premises. The litterbug alley got tidy within an hour. A robust guidance is all that is required.
