As a part of ‘Swochha Bidhyalaya Program’, Clean up Nepal is supporting Shree Baluwa Secondary School at Baluwapati, Kavre to construct latrines. The construction of latrines at this school is in its completion phase and will be handed over along with awareness program on water, sanitation and hygiene by November 2016.
After the Gorkha Earthquake 2015, Clean up Nepal assessed several schools and identified Shree Baluwa Secondary School as one of the four badly hit government schools. The need to construct latrines was prominent as their latrine was completely damaged and also insufficient for the number of students in the school.
The construction of latrines has been possible with the support of the local community. Clean up Nepal along with Nagarkot Naldum Tourism Development Committee organized a run from Nagarkot to Dhulikhel in August 2015 to raise some portion of funds for the latrine construction at Shree Baluwa Secondary School. Clean up Nepal’s ‘Swochha Bidhyalaya Program’ is generously funded by Ncell.
