In collaboration with Amics Nepal, Clean up Nepal performed a drama and conducted a workshop on waste management at Shree Bhagyodaya Secondary School at Sankhu on December 23. The half-hour long drama presented problems like littering, illegal dumping and open-air waste burning practices and ways to address these problems through waste segregation at source, selling the recyclables and making upcycled products.
The drama team also covered the impact of poorly managed waste practices on health and the environment and had fun components like the “kucho dance” to convey these messages. The drama was followed by an hour-long workshop for grade 7 students with four components: pre-knowledge test workstation, waste segregation workstation, upcycling workstation and informative workstation on open-air waste burning.
If you want to have a drama or workshop on waste management performed at your school or if you know any school that would be interested, please contact Jyotir Nisha at firstname.lastname@example.org or at 01-4428633.
