OJASWI KAFLE | COMMUNICATIONS
Since her childhood, Ojaswi has been passionate about environmental stewardship. She has been involved in various types of environmental organisations, ranging from one run by students at her alma mater to an internationally recognized organisation with a presence in over 30 countries. In Nepal, she wrote a children’s book on climate change with The Small Earth – Nepal. Having worked in education, the non-profit sector and in the business field, Ojaswi brings a wide range of experience and insight to Clean up Nepal. Her interest and expertise lie in communications, writing, event planning and funds development. Ojaswi has a bachelor’s degree in Anthropology and continues to be amazed by the diversity of the cultures around the world. She has traveled in 15 countries and lived on 4 continents so far. Her favorite activities, other than traveling, include trekking, hiking, cycling, running and yoga.
JO HILL | TECHNICAL EXPERTISE
Jo was the Executive Director at Waste Ventures Charities where she supported pioneering partners in India who are developing best practice models in waste management. She is particularly passionate about promoting community composting as a key element in successful waste management systems.
Previously Jo was the Director of Ventures at UnLtd, the foundation for social entrepreneurs. At UnLtd, she raised over £10 million to support the most ambitious social entrepreneurs in the UK to scale up impact. She developed the successful Big Venture Challenge programme to plug the gap in high risk, early stage finance by attracting new Angel investors into the social enterprise sector. Prior to UnLtd, Jo worked on a diversity of social change projects, managing national and international programmes at Save the Children, the new economics foundation, One World International and Enterprise UK. Jo has also set up her own business called Open Gym which is a network of outdoor local fitness groups.
Jo has lived in Nepal with her husband and son since early 2013.
