Annual Nationwide Cleanup Event

We undertake an annual nationwide cleanup on the occasion of the Clean Up the World Weekend, generally the third week of September. We commenced this in 2013 whereby 15 430 volunteers took part at 45 locations in 25 cities. In 2014, cleanups were carried out at the same time at over 70 locations throughout Nepal between 7am and 11am. Embracing the slogan ‘Join the Green Revolution: Stop Neighbourhood Pollution’, more than 20,000 volunteers and 240 community entities and organisations donated their time and energy to the nationwide cleanup resulting in the collection of 1 06 045 kilos of waste. In 2015, cleanups were conducted in 109 locations of 38 cities in 21 districts. 39 031 individuals participated in the event and collected 282 699 kg of rubbish. These nationwide cleanup events act as a catalyst to encourage individuals, communities and organisations to commence cleanup activities in their neighborhood. This year, Clean up Nepal 2016-- the annual nationwide cleanup will take place on Saturday, 17 September 2016 from 7am to 11am.
