Clean up Nepal will be organizing interactive workshops at Machhegaun, a peri-urban settlement in Kathmandu. The workshops will be held in Machhegaun, Ward no. 7 at 11 am and in Dhakshi, Ward no. 9 at 1.30 pm on 20 January. The workshop will consist of community engagement and awareness raising training on “Waste Segregation: Why and How?” and “The Impacts of Waste Burning”. The workshop will be coordinated by the Clean up Nepal team and volunteer Sujina K.C. with the support of the Bishnu Devi Mahila Bachat Tatha Rin Sahakari Sanstha, Machhegaun. This training is part of Clean up Nepal’s Litter-free Neighborhood Program and is generously funded by the US Embassy in Nepal. Clean up Nepal will also distribute pamphlets on waste segregation and waste burning to the participants, and place awareness raising laminated posters on waste segregation at various locations in Machhegaun and Dhakshi.
