The School Level Environment Essay Contest 2016 is the first such initiative taken by Clean up Nepal. The topic of the essay contest was, “Waste Burning; Its impacts and the role of youth to mitigate it.” It was an initiative to provide a platform for students to express their experience and ideas on waste burning and raise awareness about its impacts and explore the ways to mitigate it in local level. The initiative was supported by UNESCO Kathmandu.

1st Prize – Rubin Luitel, Bright Horizon Children’s Home School, Kathmandu

2nd Prize – Prabhash GC, Sainik Awasiya Maha Vidhyalaya, Bhaktapur

3rd Prize – Abhinav Dev, Budhanilkantha School, Kathmandu
